Currently reading.

I am currently reading Divergent. It is such a good book! I could hardly get myself to put it down long enough to type this post.
This book is another dystopian type novel, my favorite kind of book! I will post my final thoughts about it when i am finished with the book. So far it reminds me a lot of Hunger Games, Matched, or Delirium.

My Summer Reads So Far

This summer has been one full of reading! It feels nice to finally have some time to read! It is so unusual lately.
So far I have been able to read the following:

Romance:
Susane Colasanti- Waiting For You
At the beginning of her sophomore year, Marisa is ready for a fresh start and, more importantly, a boyfriend. So when the handsome and popular Derek asks her out, Marisa thinks her long wait for happiness is over. But several bumps in the road—including her parents’ unexpected separation, a fight with her best friend, and a shocking disappointment in her relationship with Derek—test Marisa’s ability to maintain her new outlook. Only the anonymous DJ, whose underground podcasts have the school’s ear, seems to understand what Marisa is going through. But she has no idea who he is—or does she?

Rating:
Out of 5!

This book takes you through the good and bad times of a girl named Marisa who is waiting for that prince charming to come sweep her off her feet (aren't we all?). It is an eye opening inspiring story that teaches you about appreciating your life you have.

Need a good reminder of why life is so good right now?
Try this suspenseful novel:
Susan Beth Pfeffer- Life As We Knew It
Miranda’s disbelief turns to fear in a split second when a meteor knocks the moon closer to the earth. How should her family prepare for the future when worldwide tsunamis wipe out the coasts, earthquakes rock the continents, and volcanic ash blocks out the sun? As summer turns to Arctic winter, Miranda, her two brothers, and their mother retreat to the unexpected safe haven of their sunroom, where they subsist on stockpiled food and limited water in the warmth of a wood-burning stove.

Told in journal entries, this is the heart-pounding story of Miranda’s struggle to hold on to the most important resource of all--hope--in an increasingly desperate and unfamiliar world.

Rating:
Out of 5

This book tells a really good story! It is crazy to imagine how people would react in a situation like this, and it is also very scary! I am planning on reading the rest of this series, but I need a break with some light hearted novels in between.

If you enjoyed the Hunger Games.. READ THIS SERIES!
Dystopian Novel:
Lauren Oliver- Delirium Series: Delirium, Pandemonium, Requiem

Summary of first book so I won't spoil anything for you!

They didn’t understand that once love -- the deliria -- blooms in your blood, there is no escaping its hold. Things are different now. Scientists are able to eradicate love, and the government demands that all citizens receive the cure upon turning eighteen. Lena Holoway has always looked forward to the day when she’ll be cured. A life without love is a life without pain: safe, measured, predictable, and happy.

But with ninety-five days left until her treatment, Lena does the unthinkable: She falls in love.

Summer Romance Reads

Books by Sarah Dessen can be described in so many ways, but a few words come immediately to mind. Amazing, Inspiring, Incredible. This is one of my absolute favorite authors! I have not found a book of hers that I do not like. She is such an amazing author! All of her books teach you something new, but at the same time give you a little taste of the romance you were hoping for.
Another great author is Susane Colasanti. A writer, a lot like Sarah Dessen, trying to help you through your teen years with a little understanding that you are not alone. Once again I love all the books from her. There have been a few that were a bit slow in the beginning but they all come together to be incredible books.
